For Immediate Release
K. Peter Turnquest, newly elected Grand Bahama Chamber of Commerce President, will bring the Vision address at the 12th Annual Grand Bahama Business Outlook to be held on Thursday, February 25, 2010 at Portobello, Our Lucaya beginning at 8:30am.
“Take Action Now 2010-2020: A Decade for Action and Accountability” is this year’s conference theme and is said, by the new president, to be very timely as it relates to Grand Bahama.
“Everyone is aware that Grand Bahama has suffered more than most of the other islands for thepast year or so,” said Mr. Turnquest. “Many people in Grand Bahama feel down about the state of our economy and where we can be, where we see ourselves being, versus where we are today.
“As we look at the vision for Grand Bahama, this is the best time to invest because of cheaper labour costs, lower property costs, etc. This is also a time for entrepreneurs to get in business. And, the time is right for us Bahamians to take control of our economy.
“There is a tremendous opportunity in Grand Bahama as we have all the infrastructure and human talent,” Mr. Turnquest continued. “We just need a push to get us exposed and people will come and take a look to see that Grand Bahama is an incredible place for touristic and industrial development.
“We look forward to this year’s Outlook and its dynamic list of speakers.”
